How to Play Overwatch 2 without a Phone Number

If you have played Overwatch 2 since June 9, 2021, then you can play it without a number. Unfortunately, new players cannot play Overwatch 2 without a phone number. This change took effect on 7 October 2022.

To reduce cheaters and smurfs in the game, one of the reasons phone numbers were introduced was. You can see why Blizzard won’t allow new players to play without having a phone number.

Even if you have played the original game once, toxicity will still result in a ban. Original players should make sure to use their account because if they are permanently banned, the next account will require that they add a number.

You Can Use Someone Else’s Number

If you don’t intend to play Overwatch 2, but have a postpaid plan, this is an option. You can register using their number. Remember that only one number can be used for one account. They won’t have the ability to use their own number if they want to play.

Change your Plan or Get a New Number
